In my neighborhood there are a few consignment stores and thrift stores where I can shop for new looks without feeling guilty or spending a fortune. One of my favorites is the City Opera Thrift Shop, they always have original quality pieces, and some really good designer finds. And this is not a secret either, I always see some very elegant ladies shopping there, so the best tactic is always pop in to check what’s new, because whatever is there it doesn’t stay there for long.

Today I sneaked in it to see if I can find a new outfit and as usual, they didn’t let me down.

Thrift chic Calypso minidress and Miss Sixty bag

This is what I found:

  • Gorgeous off-white embroidered mini-dress by Calypso St Barth ($15), with a unique open sleeve detail.
  • Miss Sixty suede shoulder minibag ($15)
  • For a while I considered also a very cool pair of elastic jeans by Citizen of Humanity ($15 too).

I really loved the colors ranging from plum, ochre and dark blue, and they would have been perfect with that top. Unfortunately, it is a hot day and just trying on tight pants made me feel claustrophobic, so I left them.

To make up for it on the way out I picked up an original silver dome ring ($ 8) with a stone that looks like the eye of dragon.

Needless to say, I’m very proud of my finds and ready to rock the Holiday!

Happy Fourth of July!

P.s. they have 25% off furniture for a few more days, and since you’ve been reading my post to the end here is a bonus:

This huge beautiful pillow (1 of 2 available) is still there waiting for you! ($ 25)
